It is important to understand that Dexter Freebish is not one individual. It is the collective works of Kyle, Chris Lowe, Scott Romig, and Rob Schilz as a band entity. They indeed are one of the most underated bands of the past decade. Their discography consists of 4 albums, any of which is a good starting point. Give them a listen:

Down Down Down, the first single from Charlie’s forthcoming album will be released on the 16th May and is available on iTunes now.

Written by Charlie and produced by Danton Supple (Coldplay, Doves) Down Down Down is an acoustic based, harmony flooded alt.ballad inspired in part by Charlie’s love of the Beach Boys, Jackson Browne and Elliott Smith.

Welcome to My DNA is the third studio album by Blackfield. It was released in Europe on March 28, 2011, and is set to be released in the US on April 19, 2011, as a digi-book CD and heavyweight vinyl limited to 2000 individually numbered copies.

The name of the album was officially announced on Blackfield’s official Twitter page, “Yes the album is called “Welcome to my DNA”. All will become clear when you hear the title track…”

Almost all of the songs were written by Aviv Geffen, as Steven Wilson had been working on a solo album at the same time. The musicians worked on the material together in studios in England and Israel. All tracks were produced by Wilson and Geffen, except from “Oxygen”, which was produced by Trevor Horn.

Goodnight Argent

Goodnight Argent did not have a subtle start. Their first gig as a band was at the legendary Roxy Theatre in Hollywood, CA. Since then, they have continued to find success both on the stage, and off. Goodnight Argent’s debut E.P. was produced by Chase Thompson, and mastered by 4-time Grammy Award winner Gavin Lurssen. Their first single “Battlegrounds” has received airplay on multiple Hot AC, CHR/Top 40, and College radio stations across the nation. Goodnight Argent has received several awards for their songwriting abilities including the Grand Prize in Pop for the John Lennon Songwriting contest as well as awards from Billboard, and the International Songwriting Competition. Their debut E.P. is being released on March 7th. For booking info visit www.GoodnightArgent.com

Some movies just seem to fly by without getting noticed. This campy rock and roll vampire romp came and went, but is destined to become a cult classic upon dvd release.

After their bass player Jennifer (Jessica Paré) becomes a vampire, down and out rock band, The Winners are launched into the spotlight. But when they find themselves stalked by creepy producers, wild groupies and the legendary vampire hunter Eddie Van Helsig (Malcolm McDowell), The Winners soon find fame to be a fate worse than death.

Featuring some of Rock’s greatest legends:

Iggy Pop, Alice Cooper, Moby, Henry Rollins, Dave Foley, Alex Lifeson

I wanted to post a song that maybe not everyone has heard before in memory of John Lennon. I chose this one from Regina Spektor because it deserves a listen and she deserves more exposure. This is the album version of John Lennon’s ‘Real Love’ as covered by Regina Spektor for the “Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign to Save Darfur” CD.

If you like it, I encourage you to buy the track (or the entire MAGNIFICENT album) from iTunes or Amazon or wherever. Proceeds go directly to support Amnesty International’s work in Darfur and other human rights crises worldwide.
