the sitterGhost House Pictures—the joint genre venture between Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Mandate’s Nathan Kahane—plans adapt R.L. Stine’s novel “The Sitter,” into a feature film. First published in the summer of 2003, the producers are planning to re-title the film The Au Pair, with screenwriter Dana Stevens penning the screenplay. Stevens worked with Raimi before on his 1999 effort For Love of the Game.

Plot Concept: “Au Pair,” which is a working title, follows a young woman who runs from a troubled relationship by spending a fun-filled, romantic summer as a nanny in a posh Hamptons beach house. This dream job takes a frightening turn when she uncovers a dark secret that haunts her and the kids she’s sworn to protect.
